This is the most selfish company to ever work for. Dont be fooled by their Member Serice advertisements.
They care about the members(money) but they treat their employees like farm animals. There is no job security with this organization. They constantly micro manage every move you make. They have outrageous goals for you to adhere to (no mater what your position) and in the last few years they have gotten so money hungry and force you to upsell their members with everything under the sun includig Credit cards ( even for thier children), they dont care if you get their members into further financial debt
all they want you to do is sell...sell...sell, its never about the quality or time you spend with a member
its about goals and how much did you sell... move on to the next member and sell them...Iif you dont sell the members down the river than beware...they will turn on you in a heartbeat....and it doesnt matter how many years you have under your belt...with this organization its always WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY

I came to work with AAA Carolinas almost 18 months ago. I had been an experienced travel agent for over 10 years. I was the only one in my department with experience. Unfortunately I found out quickly that working for a travel agency that membership based is miserable. I have always taken care of my clients and do not put them off on my customer service people (I am making the commission, not them). I had to argue with my manager on constant bases to take care of my clients. I was constantly being reprimanded for doing extra for my clients because the other agents were too lazy to do anything for their clients. I constantly received complaints from clients that their agent would not return their calls or they didn’t even know the name of the agent who booked them. One agent on Sundays when I would go tell her a client wanted her on the phone, she would tell me to assist the client since she was busy (and by busy she meant she was on a personal phone call or on Facebook). The office was very cliquish. I was told if I called in sick on the second shift or weekend I would be fired. Others were out all the time and never even written up.

AAA members think they are entitled and act like spoiled kids when they didn’t get their way. I can’t tell you how many times I got screamed at and blessed and cussed out on regular bases from clients who didn’t get their way. I reused to assist members who did not book with us as E&O insurance will not cover that and I have no desire to be sued. And I was reprimanded about that. I had a client who booked and canceled Disney packages with us almost a dozen times. After she canceled with me last time I asked to not work with her. I had to work with her anyway. I went to my manager several times about the client and she didn’t do a thing. She ended up canceling with us again. She wasn’t even a member so she cost us money. All the other travel agencies I have worked for had lists of clients who we did not book any more. This client would have made the list. Instead they were upset because she booked with Disney. Why would you want this person to do business with you?????

I finally got terminated because a client had a hissy. She called the night before to get a rate on a hotel (something we make no money on and the agency makes little on). My system showed they didn’t have any rooms so I called the resort directly and was told they had to deluxe suites left and each was about $400. The member said she could get it for $200 so I told her to book it else where then. She started screaming with the usual “what am I paying AAA for???” Lets see..maybe towing and car services. After 5 minutes of verbal abuse from the client and given the fact I had no way to get it for half price, I hung up on the client. Only after warning her that I had enough. She called back 3 more times to scream at me. I was told by my manager that such treatment of a client was not tolerated! But apparently her behavior is ok. I mean you don’t want to upset the member. I was an excellent agent with a large repeat and refer clientele in 16 months and my sales were above expected. There were no complaints from my clients. One new agent on 4 different occasions in a month’s time made mistakes that cost the company money. She ran invoices with one set of dates while she booked the wrong dates with Disney and never corrected them. She cost the company thousands but was never even written up!

I had worked for this company for over 14 yrs , and a Female regional Manager comes in on her high horse knowing nothing of insurance and becomes a B----- and destroys all the morale in the offices and ruins employees self esteem. They let me go for 2 mistakes on a application out of 50 apps I wrote in amonth but she was really upset that i would Call HR on her regarding her work ethics so she got rid of me. But now I can say Thank you God from removing me from there, I never realized how awful it really was and stressful it was until I left, I am now happy and in the process of opening MY own business and work for myself and hope to hire and treat my employees with the up most respect.

AAA is the worst company and I hope Agents will realize to get out while they can and take care of themselves and their family by building there own book of business not their's cause you too will get let go by being pushed out or FIRED, cause they do not care what you bring as far business is basically keep your mouth shut and you will be fine, You need to be a robot for them and I would not do that I fought for myself and spoke up.

I would recommend against working with AAA. Both the Travel Agency and the Insurance Department repeatedly hire people and give them unrealistic goals which are even more unrealistic in this economic environment. Additionally, to make a liveable salary the goals are so high they are for the most part unattainable. Then when goals aren't met they let you go in the most demoralizing way. Rather than simply letting you go for lack of sales, they have a certain process they follow every time someone cannot make goals and basically you are to blame. In the process they pick apart everything you do and completely demoralize you.

You will work for people that think they are the only smart one's at the company and if your not a VP you are a mindless drone. Some VP's are having sex with managers and the the CEO and all the VP's know who is doing what you. They lie to your face and try to bully you around. If you don't got to the same church your not in the group and your an out cast. They talk the talk but can't walk the walk. They are do what I say not do what I do. There are managers that should not be in that type of position and the only reason they are there is because they are screwing the head of the department.

A bunch of low life, uneducated felons "incharge" what a horrible place. Most employees are there because jobs are very hard to find. The people who have been there cannot get employment elsewhere..check their backgrounds...

Any tiny mistake will likely get you fired. If you happen to work for roadside assistance be very careful. One very slight mistake WILL result in your termination. Their training program is pathetic. Unless you enjoy the "sink or swim" training environment steer clear of this company. Their concern is for their company vehicles and equipment MUCH more than they pretend to care about their employees. Their pay is pathetic as well. Unbelievably, I was reduced in pay three times within the first three months I worked there. First was $12hr which soon became $11hr at 60 days and was reduced to $10.63hr at my 90 day point. What kind of company actually reduces your pay the longer you are employed with them? Well AAA Arizona does! Save your self the grief of getting fired for a stupid reason and go work for a company that understands people make mistakes and count of some form of job security. There is NO job security at AAA Arizona!

I can't believe what people are saying here. This is a great company and brand to work for if you are truly interested in working and serious about goals you can have a fantasic career at this company.
Sounds to me like most people are not trying to work and trying to get out of it or avoid working. There is longevity that you just don't see anymore with most companies and the long term employees and managers are willing to help and mentor you if you show interest. Why be at a job you don't like? If it isn't for you go somewhere esle because I would hate for you to ruin it for the rest of us that really appreciate everything this company has to offer.
