Sales management is horrible. Inexperienced and no regard or respect for the individual. Nobody last very long unless they are inept.

Things are not too bad in the Indiana plant. Sure, it would be nice to make the money GM employees make, but we sell $250 cabinets, not $30,000 cars. Upper management looks out for the employees, middle management looks out for themselves, quick to blame a lowly hourly employye instead of taking the blame themselves. Monthly meetings provide news on how the company is doning and a question session at the end with follow-up posted on bulletin boards around the area. Hard to move up in the company as it is fairly young in the area (10 years) and most employees have been there 7+ years so the ones that do have the 'higher' paying hourly jobs aren't going anywhere for a while.

Not much hope of job lasting or an type of security,no respect for the individual, less for family or community. Keep hireing co-workers who do not know how to do their jobs and are proud of it.Work environment has become more of dog eat dog than get the job do.
I do hope things get better soon with the economics so may be some jobs some where else will open up.The next is news from American Woodmark so you will understand the place
The plant Manger Samuel Duane (Sam) Jones, the plant controller David A. Brown, Paul W. Leffler Manager - Value Stream, James Jorgensen the safety guy, and Dan Coultis. The plant engineer, Terry Wood the Materials Mgr: Got kicked out the door at Humboldt,TN American Woodmark Plant. Go figure. Cleaning dirt?
3 to 5 top dogs let go in Kingman. Pay cut for safety team.
Woodmark laid of several of their salary employees today; there were about 5 people at the Monticello, KY plant.
About the same amount at the Tahlequah, OK American Woodmark plant.
Across the board it was more than 25 all upper management jobs
They have openings on Indeed.com for 57 jobs. On the American Woodmark site they have post for over 40 jobs -this is some kind of joke?

The rules one day are not the rules the next day. Pay is sometimes shorted by a few minutes each day (you have to watch you time card) these days there is not much you can do.
I used to love my job now with the present management it blows big time and I do mean it BLOWS.
None of the managers work, they are all busy in there offices going back to school(doing homework and going to online schools). When they do come out it is to lie and raise hell.
Once we had leadership and help from the management now it's get the product out who cares if it's not right and the quality sucks.

This company could be alot betterif they did something with the managment at the kingman plant..As far as respect it's us and them,I feel the benefits are pretty good as far as health, and 401k matching.Job security hmmm it's like working at a american sweat shop you never know what instant policy they may make up because they dont favor you and out the door you go. they do not listen to any input from employee's.work/life balance.there is NONE we build about 700 cabinet on each cell each day we have 3 cells should take about 8 hours been there before for 12 plus hours even if you must leave for your children after working 10 hours they will point you and god forbid if you have a doctors appointment that you made after your shift SHOULD BE OVER.growth, another good 1 you can only move up if you happen to have family in the upper managment.location .great location less than 5 mile to get to work.co- worker competence. well half the workers have to be retrained on there job duties cause when you new there they pretty much just throw you in and let the sharks attack!!!!. I truly believe all the flt,plt have degree's in idiology. for they may know how everything is supposed to run and work but dont have the hands on experiance to get the job done cause they sit in there offices all day thinking everything runs perfect. Work enviromentis very bad they took our annual picnic away at our plant.they work you to death where you feel like you work for a sweat shop. when i first start years ago it was like a big family now it's a lost cause but ive been there to long to want to go and find a new job even though i could lose my job at any moment for no reason per there policy
