i have worked for avi now for five years. been a steady downhill trip for me. started out as a shift supervisor on second shift. plant slowed down and they did away with second shift. stuck me on days on the grill. no longer considered a member of mgmnt. layed off all olther staff so i now cook, run register, do all prep for front line and generally work my $#% off every day. i cut my own hours to help company with financial slowdown. about a month later, my district mgr tells me my health insurance bennys are being taken away due to no longer working 40 hrs a week. i cut hours without being asked. when i said that i will go back to 40 hrs a week, said that could not happen. raises are a joke at best. worked for five years now. started at $10.00 per and after five years it is now $10.70???? about the only good thing i find is having weekends off. leaves me time to work a second job so i can actually have a little money in my pocket. this used to be a decent job but as more and more is taken away and more and more work is added. i really wonder how much longer i can go before i explode. to all people thinking about working for avi. unless it is all you can get, do not work for these people.

I have never seen anything like this company. If everything they promised was true it would be like working in paradise. But like mama said if it seems too good to be true it probably is. They are so dissorganized and have no leadership. Upper management is a joke. Run for your life this company will suck the life out of you!

I have worked for this company for a while. They claim to be constantly loosing money and be over budget. They insist management treat us employees like mud. They give us no incentive to do better at our jobs. These people can give you a compliment and an insult in the same breath. They believe workers can split themselves and do the work of more than one person. AVI fires good working managers and leaves the layabout ones alone. They claim to be "Family oriented" but the only "family" they care about is their own. AVI is nothing but the biggest cheats, liers, and hypocrites any one would contract out. AVI cares nothing for employees, will cheat you if they get the chance and cannot be trusted with money.

If you work for AVI, watch your paychecks. Their Payroll Department sucks. If they make a mistake that is a benefit to you, keep your mouth shut.

Don't work for these people.

I desperately took a non-managerial position less than a year ago with AVI. Extremely over qualified with more experience than all of my immediate managers. I showed up every day and out produced the rest of the "team" by a considerable margin. Then the promises came. I stepped up and worked even harder. I was doing managerial tasks on a daily basis. Every manager would lie, steal, and most importantly avoid any blame at all costs. The excuses were redicules. I was trying to line something up before leaving this horrible company, however I decided to take my chances with no job at all. My sympathy goes out for all the employees who work for them. I worked at multiple locations and the environment was very similar, deperessing. I didnt come across one non-manager employee who was proud to work for AVI. That is not an exageration, not one employee amongst the 60-70 of them that I encountered. AVI's slogan should be, "Hey, thats not my job." This was the first place that I worked for, especially in the food industry, that this attitude was acceptable.Unless you have no morals, I would not recommend working for this company. I did and regret it. I wish I had given that time and effort to a respectable company. After 20 years of working, it is by far the worst company that I have ever seen.

I have a question,
Does any other branch make you take a saturday as a vacation day, if you work 6 days a wee, during your vacation time?
I'm an attendent, and work in a mill. I love the work, hate the pay, hate the rules that change day to day.
Last year, the said if you work 6 days you MUST take Saturday as a vacation day. OK now what happens if you only have 5 days vacation? You work mon or sat? This makes no sense. Anyone have an answere?

AVI is slowly self destructing. They have all of the confidence in a few people, who have gotten where they are by treating people poorly, and lying to potential clients and clients. They are a very immoral, unprofessional company, and they are losing good people every day. They can pull my posts, and any other posts that speak the truth, but in the end they will look back and say man he was right again.

After working there I have come to realize that they don't go by thier core values that they preach about on a regular basis what so ever. Honesty being one of them and they ( upper management) are all liars! I have been promised all kinds of things and haven't recieved anything from them. If it weren't such a bad economy right now and so tuff to find a job I would be GONE! I am a single mother of 2 and can't go without work so I have to stay but hopefully will find myself another job soon. I can't wait to get out of this company.

I incourage all to never apply or work for this company! They only care about themselves!

I have never worked for a more unprofessional company in my life. I have actually been physically threatened by the branch manager who we all know is bi-polar! How they haven't had the pants sued off of them is beyond me! I just keep documenting all the crazy events that happenand I think one day it will come in very handy!
