Worked at avi when they first took over in van wert to do their caterings. Everything fine at first, did caterings for 500-1400 people with minimal help. Worked 40 hours out of 48 hours during the xmas season many times. D.M. mentioned that if I keep it up could be looking at corporate catering chef. Felt like I was on top of the world. Then the slow months came and the lies, had to cut my one full time employee to part time which R.M. & D.M. told me that they wanted to build me a staff, then wanted me to do caterings at 4:30 in the morning at one plant that was 30 miles away, do another lunch catering at a branch that was 25 miles away in another direction and make sure all caterings were picked up by the end of the day. After about three days straight of this I told the branch manager that I needed help picking up caterings. He told me the vendors were to busy to stop and pick up caterings (coffee, pastry trays which usually take 10 minutes) My D.M. told me that all vendors would assist in taking and picking up, spoke with him and he said he would take care of it, fourth and fifth day came never materialized. Resulting in me getting wrote up for not performing my job properly because I couldn't get to all caterings. Pay raise, gave me 2% instead of 4% which D.M. told me 6% to 8% depending on job performance.
There is by far no respect in fellow managers to other managers (well there is fake respect) and employees.
Work environment- imagine a dimmly lit warehouse with no windows, with empoyees walking around like trolls and there you go. (Worst I've ever been in).
I could go on and on but I think you get the ideal. This by far was the worst place I have ever worked and the day they fired me was the best day of my life. I did struggle for a couple of years but now I am in a place where they respect my opinion as a manager, an excellent atmosphere with family values.
Keep the faith and get out of AVI....!!!!

I worked at a Toyota Plant, in Buffalo WV. I liked some of my co-workers, but most really suck at being human beings. Back stabbing encouraged, and the gm's are put into a position where they have to play bad guys. They have to expect 1 person to do 3 jobs. No excuses are accepted. Unless you are hired in as a manager, don't expect more than minimum wage. All together, this company doesn't have it's act together.

I have to say in some small way I'm glads to see the post from Wooste
r at least now I know I'm not crazy or that I didn't just expect to much. It muat be the way avi trains management because we have the same problems at hebron. Good in a weird way to know we are not alone.

This is an amazing company. They make all kinds of promises, but stab you as soon as you turn around. Constant lies,NO respect.Branch Manager tells you to take shortcuts so you do not work overtime but then as usual will not back up what he said. He is to afraid he will get fired.
If you get hurt you will be fired or made to quit.
I cannot stress enough how bad this company is. Even in a bad economy it is not worth it. They just demand you constantly do more accounts but don't go over allowed hours, just take shorcuts branch manager will cover for you.Lies,Lies,Lies and more Lies.
DO NOT HIRE IN HERE LOOK FOR ANYTHING ELSE.

Are you serious there just isn't enough time or space to explain my total and utter frustration with the way this company operates and more importantly how they treat their fellow "team members" really why use the word if it means nothing. It's all about the "I" here at the hebron branch. don't even waste your time no one really cares

I just can't take it much longer. I've never been employed by such a non professional organization in my career. this place is an absolute joke, management is, well I don't even know how to explain it. Not one person in this organization at least at the branch I'm at is actually proud of the work they do or happy to say they work for AVI and I can completely understand why. I seriously think it's time to give notice, I'd rather take my chances in the unemployment pool than to keep allowing AVI to beat me up like this, I know I'm a good, dependable employee but AVI has done nothing but tear me down since day one. I'M SO....DONE WITH THIS COMPANY

i recommend none of you ever take any sort of management or supervisor job. they will give you a phone and car and you will be at their beck and call 24/7. they will call you all hours of the day or night. i regret with all of my heart ever working for this horrid company. i also hear they are in major trouble and are buying out other businesses and cannot handle the work load. i have a feeling this company will not be around for long. my advice is to stay on unemployment and search for another job elsewhere, your better off.
