I would love to take my hat off to my supervisor Regina Hampton; she's the most energetic person I've ever met. R.H. always goes above and beyond expectations on the job and off of the job. I was so upset when she transferred closer to her home. R.H. made it so easy to work for Regions Bank. The work environment was outstanding, her competence was like wow. I never seen someone with so much drive, she could do anything that she put her mind to. She's really big on respect, she always says without respect you have nothing, and without self respect then you're lost. She went through the merger like a champ; you know the AmSouth and Regions merger, yeah that one. Someone made a comment about AmSouth stating that they would hire anyone with a pulse. Well Regina has more than a pulse; she has personality, class and then some. AmSouth was lucky to have her on there team, and we here at Regions, is proud to have her on our team now. I really do love my supervisor she's great, and I can still pick up the phone and call on her, even though we're not at the same location. That's outstanding!!!!

I would like to concour on the young lady's comments about the Regions bank in Troy, AL. I use to work at the downtown branch from May 2005-July 2005 as a financial sales rep. I am orginally from Mobile and I am very familiar with the city because that is where I received my undergrad and grad degrees from. However, when I went to interview for the position, I was interviewed at their corporate office in Montgomery twice and the recruiter/hr person did not give me a clear understanding of what type of situation was going on at that branch. Regions bank do not pay any money! I had to fight like hell to get 12.00 per hour even though Regions wanted me to move 3 hours away without any relocation assistance! Regions is full of shit! they are prejudice and I have never been treated like that on any job i have been on especially at Regions bank!

They gave me substandard training for 2 weeks in Montgomery, AL. I was not trained properly on what the branch required me to do. The branch I worked for thought that I was the "second coming" or something. because the recruiters told them a bunch of lies about my financial background. They actually accused me of hindering them from making a profit at the branch! I was told by the corporate office that the branch downtown was a slower branch and therefore I could learn a lot!!! That was a crock of shit!

The assistant branch manager at the time his name was Kyle, would go into my bank account that they make you set up to do your automatic deposit and tell me why I had so much money in my account? I was like wtf? that's none of your business he had the nerve to tell me that Regions bank was paying me too much and they didn't pay him that much when he worked on my job!!! Im thinking to myself if he thinks that 12.00 an hour is a lot of money that just confirms to me what type of redneck hillbilly he really was!

The lies that was told on me on a consistant basis let me know that the branch in downtown troy was just full of a bunch of rednecks, and uncle tom negros that was scared to speak up and tell management how they really felt. I guess I had too much mouth and was from the big city and didn't understand why these people acted the way they did!

Next, me and this woman by the name of Ms. Johnny butted heads every day before she retired. she didn't like the fact that I was more educated and more up-to-date with the world. she had that bitch sylvia(branch manager) digging holes for me because she could get along with any other of the people that work there. But who I blame is Regions Bank corporate. they allowed these bitches to run that branch like their own and treat people like crap.

Lastly, when I went to that bitch Sylvia a so called "preachers wife" to get some type of guidance on how to get more accounts opened all she could say is: I don't know! we will work something out! the very next day she and the managment staff had HR to fired me!!! I was 2 days shy of making my 90 day probationary! I am still mad over the incompetence of that so called bank, I know its been 4 years but people please beleive that Regions Bank is no where for a uptodate person to work. Its not for educated people that questions the system. Its not a place that you can move up in or get a leg up in. Its not worth moving anywhere for unless you are an executive with executive pay! The Regions branch in Troy is prejudice, ignorant, redneck, uncle tom, country, and unprofessional. people and they WILL NEVER GET ANYWHERE IN LIFE IN THAT GOD FORSAKEN TOWN! Don't waste your time at any regions bank.

Even with all of that and there is more and I won't bore you with any more, Regions Bank did not keep me from moving on. I don't put them on my resume. Because Regions bank is so low down they will see to it that you don't get another job if you allow them to be placed as a reference. I was satisfied that I received unemployment from them because when I had them investigated them bastards didn't even respond back to the allegations. The state awarded me my money and I got the hell on down the road!!!

If you are a male over 30, you won't get hired. Pay is good but I saw 4 people get fired while applying. The previous post is right on the money.

This company is a joke. They don't care about their employees. They don't care about their customers. All they care about is the share holders pockets and their CEO Dowd Ritter's multiple homes. No matter how hard you work, it is NEVER enough. Someone can open many accounts during a precious call week, but all they want to do is focus on anything negative. If you sneeze wrong, your job could be on the line. It doesn't matter how many hours you put it, the sweat, the tears at times, all they care about is money, not people. The motto is, "It's time to expect more." And I agree, it is time to expect more pressure. It's time to expect more stress. It's to expect more job responsibilities with no pay increase. And finally, it's time to expect more for Mr. Ritter over in Birmingham.

They just want to hire kids (18-25). Dumber the better it seems. I don't think they care about anything but high school grads since I found out career growth sucks and you work when they want you to meaning any shift. Employees didn't look that happy that worked in the call center. Just a job for in-between good ones. If over 30, I bet you don't get hired if male. I'd say they discriminate since saw a lot of women and minorities working there.

First of all, I would like to say that my problem is not with the company as a whole but with my particular branch! My manager is a complete idiot who makes poor decisions and is jealous of anyone who she feels has more potential than herself. She doesn't have a degree therefore she tries to keep everyone else who does below her. She talks down to the tellers and discriminates against customers of a different race or nationality. She gives special treatment to some customers and treats the rest like dirt! There are no opportunities for advancement because when you apply for a job, she basically tells the recruiter terrible things about you that are completely untrue just to keep you from progressing! The job is so stressful and the pay sucks for everything that you have to do! And when you need a day off for a doctors appointment or whatever they don't want to give it to you because the manager complains that they will be short of tellers! However the benefits are excellent, full medical and dental, and life insurance. Regions is not a bad company but please choose the right branch to work for!
