i have just reread the most recent comments and am very sorry that so many posts have been removed. Unfortunately the amount of pain and betrayal that so many employees feel (including some who are still there, because of the current economic crisis) has resulted in "venting" that has seemed too strong. This is unfortunate, because what is being said is completely accurate regarding the total incompetence and extreme lack of ethics found in the leadership team. The manipulation and damage that has been done to so very many people (who are not family members) is beyond belief. It is only because of having been so disrespected, harmed and betrayed that people are coming out with such intense fury. Don't discount what they are saying. It really is the truth. And if your post has been removed, then say it again without the stuff that caused your original posting to be deleted. Your voice is impotant!

There are so many problems in this company I’m not sure where to begin. I guess we can start at the source of the problem; you may have seen her greeting potential investors and other clients in the lobby with her pet dog which she parades around the entire office. Incompetent in every sense of the word, she is a micromanager with zero ability to motivate or manage a group of people. She directly oversees EVERY department in the company besides the sales floor which her brother (Read as “Used Car Salesman”) oversees (at least when he is in the building which is close to never). Her resume includes running at least two if not more businesses right into the ground. Don’t worry though, she brought over her married illegal immigrant friends from the last company to be the heads of the accounting and finance departments.
The incompetence doesn’t end there though, no, it continues through almost every major department at iCan right down to the glorified lunch aide. I think it is safe to say that surrounding yourself with your son’s dorm mates, incompetent family members, and illegal immigrants isn’t the best way to manage a business. Even they can’t insulate you from your apparent failures, lies, secrets, and incompetence.
Everything is a secret between the narcissistic queen bee of this cesspool and her little puppets. She lies through her teeth and feigns compassion, but deep down she feels you are an idiot and not worthy to even breathe the same air as her or her brilliant family. The funny part is she thinks she is well liked and respected; that she is actually fooling everyone in the company. Fact is her lies are transparent and I don't know one single non-family/friend employee that doesn't loathe her. Quite frankly I don’t understand how she sleeps at night knowing she is a fraud and failure not only as a business woman, but as a decent human being.
There is a constant state of paranoia which radiates through the company. Don’t say anything against the genius ideas of management or you will most certainly be fired. The idea of an open door policy at iCan is comical at best. The only open door is the side entrance which you will be escorted out of once they catch wind of your dissenting opinion.
The one shining star and “very brilliant” (at least according to his mother) head of a key department is funneled every project which comes into the company; ideas go to his desk to die. He knows nothing about business, media in particular – He isn’t fit to run a lemonade stand let alone one of the most important departments in the company. He is an engineer who is coddled by his mother with no management, leadership, or business skills. His one selling point is that he is “Black Belt Six Sigma certified” (Read as “Bull*&#$”). Despite being having so called “masters” in efficiency working at iCan, this company SCREAMS inefficiency; from the paper leads they hand out manually to the multi-million dollar computer software they have failed to launch repeatedly, to the 100 daily meetings which the queen monologues and drones on about nothing of importance with no agenda or deliverables to show for it.
For the 3 members of senior management- “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”. Wake up and realize that the day you fire the evil person that is murdering your company is the day iCan begins to heal. Until she is gone you will continue on this downward spiral which has been 2009

The "Truth": TOTAL business incompetence (while thinking they are brilliant); deceitful to everyone
(employees, customers, even one another in the management group); disloyal to anyone
who is not a family member; dishonest about true motives in anything (decision making -
financial conditions - intentions regarding employees); top management with serious
addictions that are out of control; financial management that is unbelievably incompetent;
requirement that everyone agree with management or "There is the door"; hiring of very
incompetent family members and firing anyone with real ability; no keeping of agreements with
vendors, employees, customers; very unfair pricing for the consumer with deceptively high
margins; AND ON AND ON......

This company has severely hurt more individuals and families than it would be possible for anyone to believe, unless you had been there. It will soon go down the tubes.

Be very clear - everything negative and challenging that is being said on this JobVent is TRUE! And the positive posts are undoubtedly either from folks who are still miraculously drinking the coolaid or family members. Best advice - STAY AWAY!!!

overpaid: to pay (a person) in excess.
-usage: all managers at ican benefit are overpaid

christmas: the annual festival of the Christian church commemorating the birth of Jesus: celebrated on December 25 and now generally observed as a legal holiday and an occasion for exchanging gifts.
-usage: a lot of good ican employees will be fired by Christmas

Time to make this clear - there is not a small handful, but an army of people on this website posting their thoughts based on their experience at this company. This poster alone has counted more than 25. It may seem to you to be a few, but that is only because they share a remarkably similar story. These aren't all sales agents either. Not even close. If you carefully read all these posts you can separate the superficial from the real problems.

This is not about the quality or quantity of leads.
This is not about owners profiting from a business where they put up the risk.
This is not about the common family run business.
This is not about being fired or losing a job.

These things are what the positive posters use to support their positions, claiming these are attacks on their wholesome American free enterprise. The problems run so much deeper than they could ever see. At their most fundamental level, the management of this company has destroyed many good relationships and have made many people and company partners very angry. These were not mistakes, but intentional manipulations and calculations. You may think the complainers are crying over milk, but they actually know far more than you ever will about how bad it actually is.

Oh, and there is only one cancer in this company and everyone knows who she is.

I appreciate the definitions of "loyalty" and "trustworthy." I find it laughable that the management of iCan are the ones giving us this "lesson." I've got some words of my own:

"Crook" - one who lives by dishonest means
"manipulative" - to manage or influence deviously
"jackass" - a stupid person
"shyster" - .....well....that's just a good word!

iCan giving us a lesson in loyalty is like Michael Vick giving us a lesson on the proper treatment of animals!

The best thing written so far on this site "Any legitimate business confident of their position wouldn't respond to these posts unless they were afraid of the truth." As the old saying goes...actions speak louder than words. These "people" are good at covering up their messes. They have had years of practice getting the most experience covering up for their own family members. They have no conscience so they do and say as they please. None of these posts even touch these "people" because they are bottom feeders. They pretend to have feelings and care, but they don't. They would and have duped their own family and friends without a second thought. The saddest thing is they have created another generation of bottom feeders in their children and have recruited their children’s friends to be accomplices. It is obvious that the anger runs deep amongst the people that have been let go or fired or whatever the situation may be as it should. We were lied to and used and then thrown out like yesterdays trash. Personally, I don't care whether or not Ican succeeds as a company. It is my personal belief that these "people" have failed miserably as human beings and I think they all know it. They are a family filled with psychological problems which most have been discussed already. I'm sure when they look at themselves in the mirror it takes a lot for them not to puke, or do a line or two. They are "people" who are filled with contradictions and lie so much they don't even know what truth is anymore. I would just like to comment on one last thing....for anyone that tells any poster on this site to grow up.....your day will come and if you aren't as angry as the rest of us, then you probably deserved to get fired. Good luck to all of those who are now unemployed. Be thankful that you have been released from the depths of the bottom feeders. Stand proud, hold your head up high and be grateful that you will not be going down with the ship.

Thanks so much for sharing the definitions of "loyalty" and "trustworthy" but what makes you think anyone reading these posts needs a lesson on either, especially from you. Why are you wasting your time? Any legitimate business confident of their position wouldn't respond to these posts unless they were afraid of the truth. One would think by now you would at least accept the fact that you have been exposed for what you are and no denials, regardless how lengthy, change the facts or the truth. You have the temerity to highlight the sponsorship of a softball team as if you were humanitarians. Look for yourself at the photos on myspace of your "team" and you'll count at least a dozen faces no longer with your company. That's assuming you even remember their faces, having gone though so many. This isn't about lunch or softball, but the business ethics and morality you are sorely lacking and is reflected in your company. Many of your "planted" posts are "appalled" but what's really appalling are your business practices and your deceitful relationships with everyone who has the misfortune to cross your path. In case you haven't noticed, while the legitimate "posters" feel more cleansed than if they had bathed in Lourdes from venting their feelings, you insist on responding with no purpose to an empty audience. Surely you don't expect to be taken seriously by tne real business community and you can't be concerned about the effect on your recruiting efforts since you're firing on regular basis. So what's your point? Friends you brought into the business will have nothing further to do with you. You have no reputation to protect, no credibility left and no one's listening to what you're shoveling anyway. Looking at the layoffs and condition of your business, it's obvious you don't have the business skills to raise the Titanic, so at least pretend to have some dignity and go away quietly.
It's a shame for a company whose management philosophy is so deeply rooted in naval history. The paranoia of Captain Queeg, the ability to create mutiny of Captain Bligh and the famous word of Captain Smith (Titanic), "Abandon Ship!". (Of course he let woman and children leave first). Game over.

This company is going down fast so beware and don't count on your job being there tomorrow. The management is dealing with their sins of the past and can no longer find partners to do business with. Insurance carriers are leaving the business because it's this kind of company that increase their losses and they can't carry the coverage. The work place is sad and not motivated. Unfortunately it appears to be in a death slide.
