A bunch of low life, uneducated felons "incharge" what a horrible place. Most employees are there because jobs are very hard to find. The people who have been there cannot get employment elsewhere..check their backgrounds...

Any tiny mistake will likely get you fired. If you happen to work for roadside assistance be very careful. One very slight mistake WILL result in your termination. Their training program is pathetic. Unless you enjoy the "sink or swim" training environment steer clear of this company. Their concern is for their company vehicles and equipment MUCH more than they pretend to care about their employees. Their pay is pathetic as well. Unbelievably, I was reduced in pay three times within the first three months I worked there. First was $12hr which soon became $11hr at 60 days and was reduced to $10.63hr at my 90 day point. What kind of company actually reduces your pay the longer you are employed with them? Well AAA Arizona does! Save your self the grief of getting fired for a stupid reason and go work for a company that understands people make mistakes and count of some form of job security. There is NO job security at AAA Arizona!

I can't believe what people are saying here. This is a great company and brand to work for if you are truly interested in working and serious about goals you can have a fantasic career at this company.
Sounds to me like most people are not trying to work and trying to get out of it or avoid working. There is longevity that you just don't see anymore with most companies and the long term employees and managers are willing to help and mentor you if you show interest. Why be at a job you don't like? If it isn't for you go somewhere esle because I would hate for you to ruin it for the rest of us that really appreciate everything this company has to offer.

My experience is derived from approximately 11 months of part time work. I had moved from the east coast to Billings Montana without any real job potential presented. However, at the suggestion of my cousin who had worked part time for AAA I applied and was hired. I was thrilled. The ATC position for which I was hired was ideal and I felt very lucky. Unfortunately, my east coast roots did not lend itself to the pampering of the childish, self-indulgent attitudes of Montanans. For the most part AAA treats its members as children without holding anyone responsible for their actions. I have to admit there were many members whom I genuinely enjoyed working with. I worked in customer service in one way or another for 40 years -this was no big stretch for me and being responsible for creating routes for members' travel plans was like second nature to me. For what ever reason, as another reviewer mentions in this blog, AAA conducts a survey for "Totally Satisfied" results. It is very restrictive in that it doesn't allow for an exact rating on the employee but the whole experience which is then corraled into one event. You can be marked as being the reason for the lack of satisfaction this member experienced. I don't even know how many "complaints" were lodged against me. Someone once said because the member may not have had a name to attach their displeasure to simply found my business card handy. In an overall observation, I have found Montanans in general are the most inconsiderate, rude individuals I have ever met and had the misfortune of doing busines with. This includes drivers who shared the road and even other tenants who lived at my apartment complex. I had hoped to make a new beginning here in this beautiful state but came to realize that Montanans , no matter where they came from, only used the unspoiled beauty of the landscape as a means to enhance their own worth. AAA's was adequate- I never complained, in fact, had received 2 small increases in the time I worked there. Benefits were great and personal time appropriate- we enjoyed many holidays off and lots of bonus money for new memberships, etc. In any case, due to the number of complaints I received, unjustly I feel, I was terminated. My particular office was great- my boss was great as were my coworkers. I will sorely miss them. AAA needs to revamp their system of customer service - many members who stopped in our office were also from California on their way to other destinations- these individuals were even more rude than the locals. My way of handling anyone rude is to just attend to the business at hand and hope it concludes as soon as possible without any aggravation. A simple "thank you, have a nice day" doesn't do it- one needs to grovel to make the member feel special. AAA members have a collective mentality - they will walk into the office and practically throw their cards in your face or toss it so hard on the desk it will almost actually slide off the desk. In most cases, I was unable to recall being treated so poorly by any customer in any businees I worked. So here it is almost 2 weeks after the fact and I found this website to vent- I really hope one day I can reapply to AAA - despite its members, it really wasn't a bad place to work.

I have been with AAA for over 5 years. I love my job - just not my office. I get to make people's dreams come true, what could be better. We do have policies and they are expected to be followed. We also have goals that are expected to be met. Pay isn't terrific, but not bad. Not worth the stress at times, but the bonuses for goals can make up for that. There isn't a ton of growth opportunity mainly because once people get in the higher up jobs they tend to stay. Also the economy is forcing some cut backs so some jobs aren't being replaced. If it weren't for the office setting and drama I would have no complaints. It's great, as far as the work goes. Very demanding, as any professional job should be. Fast paced at times and can be extremely stressful
I do not recommend for those that lack computer skills and do not catch on quickly. It changes all the time. Training is near constant, but that's what makes you a professional. The customers can make it the most rewarding job you could think of. There are also those that make you want to crawl under a rock and die (isn't working with the public great!)
I would never steer someone away from working for this company (AAA Ohio Auto Club) but I would point out what to watch out for. Mainly take care of yourself and you'll be fine.

I worked for this company in the Underwriting department. Every day I had to work I would wish that there would be a fire, a plane crash, or anything else that would provide an excuse to not be there. We were supervised in office until about April until 2008 when the corporate office in California decided to install a remote manager and supervisor from California. When this occurred productivity and communication within our team plummeted and employee morale took a huge dive as well. This move made no sense since the other part of the department (underwriters) were managed by our former management team who's offices were on the same floor while we were left to a manager in another state and a supervisor we never met in person. When it came to actually doing our jobs, we were given little support from the company (crappy computer systems, red tape, no management guidance) so we were left to fend for ourselves. Our management in California did not know the Texas HR polices so we were often misadvised on company procedures and polices in Texas. There was little room for advancement in this department other than moving to an underwriter which would bring slightly higher pay and many more hours. After reaching underwriter status and having the last bit of life sucked out of you, a department transfer would be needed to advance in your career. If the economy was not so bad this department would surely lose a majority of its employees.

Many dreaded days were spent at this hell hole and I am glad to be gone. Among the things I will miss the least
- The office #$$##%, she talks crap behind your back (everyone) and thinks no one knows
- The incompetent Texas and California management team that micromanages every aspect of your job
- The piss poor training provided to the rest of the company. Have fun cleaning up everyone else's mistakes
- The best overpriced cafeteria in town

ACSC is not the place people think it is. the brand is there, but the money is terrible for what they expect you to do. You cannot win with the company. If you re liked by Management you are fine, but if not, WATCH OUT. You can be let go at anytime for any reason. Any Reason! Management can be very sexist and racist as stated in previous comments, men are expected to wear slacks, dress shifts and ties. Womsn can pretty much wear what they want. Even flip-flops! You never see a woman in 'business attire', not even Supeprvisors or Management. This is not the place I thought it would be. It has gone from bad to worse in the last few years. The staff is always leaving, the turnover is very high. Of the people that started with me a few years ago, there are only 2 of us left. With the economy the way it is, we are stuck. You talk to anyone taking calls and NO ONE is happy. Of 200 on the phones, I know of 3 that are happy to be there, one is a recent divorcee (sole support) and the other 2 are going to retire. That's it! Those are sad statistics.

I worked for AAA Auto Club South for almost two years before I was able to get out. You think you are getting good pay until they deduct everything you have to pay for insurance. You might get a raise yearly if you kiss up to the right people. I did not like the way I saw some people treated. This, by far has to be a great example. A nice woman was hired but started work sick and tired to make it through training. She had walking pneumonia and I do not see how see even got up each day. She did not make it through the week and had to drop out. They were nice to tell her she could return the next training class. I remember talking to her at lunch and how happy she was about finally meeting the guy she had waited all of her life to find. The day she was to returned he got killed in a carwreck. She was not able to work, what would one expect. Anyway, she asked if she could delay until the next training. I know they had already let her return after being sick but this was the death of the man she love. She got a NO, it was considered as her resignation and they would not even bother to talk or listen to her. Man that is cold! I know you need to show up for work but life happens. We are humans and things happen. I really felt for her and she should have been given the chance to prove herself. I hope the management never loses a love one and are told they cannot come to work. Sad, I am glad I am gone.

The only way you move up in this organization is if you are close friends with your managers and supervisors. Professionalism, background and skills mean nothing, it's all about who you know. Productivity is not rewarded on a consistent and fair basis. Employees who work weekends, holidays and overtime are often treated much worse than employees who call in sick weekly and are late daily, but if they are "friends" with their managers they will be treated well. Managers can't complete simple tasks (create reports, send e-mails, expense reports, etc.) and most have very poor communication and professional skills. The only good thing I can say about CSAA-AAA of Las Vegas is their medical and time off benefits are very good (vacation and personal days) and much better than their competitors.
