Looking over the last several years, many things have financially improved as this company has expanded and grown into a billion dollar mammoth. Unfortunately, this organization still functions and manages itself in a non conducive model reflecting internal silo’s across multiple regions. As I write this review, it’s important to note and highlight many areas that do indeed need much improvement. Many seasoned and talented people have left or have been quietly asked to leave for many years. Respect is a bi-directional link between employer and employee. Much improvement beyond the public eye is needed on this topic. Benefits are ok and certainly come with a cost when working at Presidio. In reviewing other organizations, some larger and some smaller, the benefits are expensive and should be revisited. Job security, simply put, is all about company profit and cost per head. This company seems to hold no value to the education, certification and experience in many areas across the board. Most people working for this organization are expected to deliver 150%. In this economy and generally speaking, that is acceptable in today’s High-Tech world. I agree with the drive, commitment, integrity, taking pride in the work one does and going beyond the call of duty. Unfortunately, Presidio does not forge a company wide best practice methodology in this arena. Employees generally do not experience an annual evaluation on performance or salary review. This was an early day foundation blueprint that has nested itself safely into a billion dollar organization. Work/life balance certainly could use improvement. Growth potential happens by default and there is not a company strategy to promote growth within the organization. Location is strategic and convenient for many skill sets across the regions. Co-worker competence varies by department and region. Cross training should be looked at very closely to help maintain continuity and business productivity. Exploiting a team atmosphere in the working environment should also be addressed as soon as possible. There has been a shortage in this area for a long time and needs to be corrected. On a final note, it was said not too long ago, “The Company comes first”. While I’m in complete agreement with that statement, it’s also very important to note that the employees in an organization truly mirror the real picture beyond the marketing collateral's and publicity. In the past employees have been asked by management to promote Presidio when negative input has been shared. I hope this information helps the company correct the deficiencies and is not misconstrued.
