Working for a bank that you believe in was Huntington Bank and then we went through a terrible merger with Sky Bank. A bank full of country employees that did not want change or allow Huntington employees helping them.
Pay- My boss told me that if I wanted a raise more then 2% then I need to bank hop because that was the only way to make any real money.
Respect- What respect no one listens or helps you with out holding it over your head.
Job Security-After the Sky merger was announced and the stock price hit the basement I know I wasn't the only one who was scared to have reviews with their boss
Work/Life Balance-the old saying bankers hours does not apply at HNB
Career Potential-Not in Southern Ohio and Kentucky; if you want to go anywhere in the company you have to move to Columbus
Location-no complaints except the customers always complained that we never had enough branches or atm locations
Co-Worker Competence-alot of smart people in the wrong positions; alot of slackers in higher management; managers that go to personal functions during work hours and call it prospecting;great bankers stuck in dead in jobs because their managers think they dont have enough experience
Work Environment-not secure and very draining; If your in retail and your manager quits guess what your stranded and you are not allowed to count your overtime because its not in the budget, you also get no support from other branches no one wants to help you they have their own branch to worry about
If you want to get into banking try a bank that doesn't worry about only staying in the mid-west where there is no growth!
