I am currently working for Diamond Comics. I have worked in MANY places and this by far is the worst. The only reason I am still employed is because the job market is stale right now. I've given it plenty of time...

-Pay is unjust, especially for how angry the customers are.
-I lie on a regular basis to customers
-"layoffs" occur but are really just mass firings
-No boundaries as far as what upper management can say, withhold from you
-Never worked for a company who had so many angry, dissatisfied customers
-Wasted time on pointless meetings
-Only people who are promoted are those who know how to suck up and throw their morals away
-No solid raise scale
-Proper equipment not supplied (such as phones, computers, keyboards, wrists rest) if it's not broken - you're not getting anything new.
-Harassment for your work

Best of luck if you're applying although I'd highly advise that you don't. At this point I'd rather work as a garbage man...at least I'd be outdoors instead of confined to my desk for 7 hours and 4 minutes....

For the "Diamond Lover" above - of course you like your job. You've read comics all your life and been considered a nerd - now you're with a bunch of nerds that don't mind bending over once in a while if they get a paycheck and a free comic.

Working for Diamond Comics sister company Diamond Select Toys has been the best Job experience of my life. My coworkers are like my family, we look out for each other, joke around and by god when the server crashes we either have talent contests or open toys and play with them. There is nothing better than waking up every morning and being excited to go to work. I am paying a little above average of what a person in my field with my experience makes and I get to participate in some of the most fun industry events. My boss is respectful and my coworkers are caring and willing to help each other out. We participate in regular moral boosting activities and even sometimes see each other outside of the work environment. The problem with these site is that the only people who post here are people who had bad experiences and are out for blood, the thing is they more than likely were awful employees to start out with therefor making their own hostile environment to dwell in. I love this company and plan on staying here as long as possible.

Working at Diamond Comics was one of the worst job experiences of my life. The atmosphere was extremely tense and negative. While I have worked in some awful jobs, this place was really bad. Many people were incredibly hostile there. Many employees often back stabbed, ridiculed, and snitched on other employees. While some people were good, many made the place a hellish place to work. The company overworked its employees and underpaid them. Training was poor to nonexistent.

Diamond Comics is one of the most hostile places to work. They have horrendous workplaces that are constantly dirty. The managers constantly fire people for any reason. They also will fire people for looking for other jobs. Workers are not allowed to take time off and are often disuaded from taking medical leave or doctor's visits. People that work there often hate it and find themselves with low pay and a dead end position. The company has a constant level of turnover and everyone knows about the company's bad repuation for treating its employees very poorly. Employees that take steps to improve their education or training are often either harrassed through poor reviews or can be outright fired (with often made up reasons). Anyone considering employement there should look elsewhere.
