I came in to work last week to 10 features. Imagine how many I ended up with later that same day when I finally said "what's the point?" and left. We are understaffed to the point that we are a skeleton crew. And the adjusters that haven't quit yet and come in day after day and do their best are rewarded with being written up for still not doing enough. We've lost so many people in the last 90 days than in the time I've been employed here. There is no leadership in this office whatsoever. The moral is at an all time low and this office is a joke. Audit scores anyone? Customer service scores anyone? Upper management is ridiculous. The BM is either out smoking every 5 minutes or sitting in his office texting all day. He is the number one reason this office is in the shape it's in now. SR management needs to see this is where the problem lies and until this cancer is gone this office will never succeed. He has set us up to fail. What's so bad about replacing him with someone with skills, knowledge, motivation and ambitions to turn things around. We've all been written up, our managers are quitting while our sorry BM sits in his office like nothing is wrong. Time to start sweeping. Start at the top with the BM and work your way down. We have a dirty hose and some cleaning is inevitable at this point.

In the New York office, there are some managers(like the PIP,BI,TOTAL LOSS and PD(male),that are willing to work with you.All the other ones are there for themselves. The claims manager and his asst are hard working and try to listen to you.The jobs get out of control when people quit or are let go for what ever reason, they expect you to do your work plus the 3 or4 that were let go with no reason at all and they won't even listen to you but they say you should be glad you have a job,so we sit here in misery everyweekend.

Have you gotton your G&O's yet? If you are in claims the answer in a big fat ugly NO. But, hey it's only the end of the rating period...I can hardly wait for my UM, with that sheepish look of "It's not my fault" on his/her face, trying to explain something they don't know. Is it just plain stupid or is it planned that we get objectives and ratings at the same time. How to you try to get to a goal when you don't know what it is???
Here's an idea....Refuse your G&O's. Don't sign them...Everyone, send a message to upper mgt. Don't sign them till they have date that begin when you get them.
REFUSE TO ACCEPT OR SIGN YOUR G&O's.

Pay- Claims department. Two years ago with the amount of the workload, pay was good compared to other insurance claims departments. However, over the last couple of years workload jumped significantly and raises were next to none.
Respect- I was an employee that took on extra work and carried many of the teams I was on. I had good working relationships. However, I never felt that the Company cared for me and all that I did. The more I accomplished, the more work I was given. I had many managers in my time there, I rarely took time off, When I did request time off I was often denied. Given the excuse that they did not have enough representatives to allow me time off. This was very unsatisfying and unprofessional. Never had that experience with other Corporations.
Benefits- Similar to other Companies. Nothing special.
Job Security- We were told that there would be no layoffs. A few months later we were told layoffs were taking place.
Work/life/balance- Most representatives could not keep up with the workload. Either they hired the wrong people or they overworked their staff. I busted my butt and handled my desk. Any chance the company had to give more work and save money they took. Employees are not there concern.
Career Potential- There is potential. Politics exist as they do in any company.
Location- Depends where you live.
Co-worker Competence- Nice people, but many could not handle the job and the workload. Having messages build up on their phones to the point of over 75 is unacceptable.
Work Environment- Typical office setting. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. Old cubicles. Old Carpet.

Esurance Phoenix sucks. This used to be a great place to work, but now management has ruined it. they expect you to take more claims thatn you can, and they get all over you about numbers whenever yours slip. They reward people who haven't taken a claim in months, while the rest of us get crapped on. DK sucks big time. He has a personality disorder. DL is definitely "rogue" as he claims to be. he does whatever he wants, while the Branch manager sits in his office with his door closed, ignoring everything and everyone. I thought you cared about the reps, RR? Guess not. Esurance -- you should be ashamed. You took a bunch of people who had good attitudes and were willing to work, and you used and abused them all. Then you did it some more. I hope you're happy DL, you singelhandedly ruined the office, and if you don't take care of DK soon, you will have a much bigger problem on your hands. OH, and RR, you may as well stick a mannequin or a blow up doll in your office chair. Either one would be better able to handle the rogue midget.

The company is run by a really nice guy, there are many nice managers in this company. The claims dept is really starting to shape up.The PIP and the BI,total loss depts are run really well. The one thing though is how they treat their workers to much favorites and on some teams they depend on like 2 or 3 people to carry the workload for the team. They should work with everyone on the team and if problems arise they should include everyone. This place is a great place to work. They have a great staff and everyone that works there should appreciate what they have, instead of what they don't.

Primary issues in Tampa are at the branch level.....starting with the branch manager (BM) and working down to the Casualty Manager (CM) and Casualty Consultant (CC).

Pay is good and was never an issue when I worked there.

With regard to respect, unless you are in the "inner circle of the three" (BM CM and CC) your voice and opinion will never be heard. Although you may be right in your opinion and can back it up with documentation, statute, case law, etc...you will always be wrong.

Work/Life balance does not exist due to unreasonable workloads and "stretch goals". A "stretch goal" is simply another way of saying "something that can not be attained that we will use against you when the goal is not met".

The company was a nice place to work in previous years however after several branch manager changes the morale has been driven into the grave. It's made quite obvious that each person is nothing more than the sum of their metrics thereby dehumanizing and demoralizing everyone.

There are several good quality adjusters and Unit Managers at the Tampa Office. Unfortunately they are forced to report to and bow down to the "inner circle of the three". If they try to be heard and have a say in any claim or process they become labeled as a "problem" and have to spend the rest of their time looking over their shoulders because once they are on the bad list, it's only a matter of time before they are no longer employed.

At one point, it was a good place to work after a new Branch Manager was brought in. In the short time she was there (approximately 6 months) she was able to increase morale and make people feel valued. But as it goes in life, all good things must come to an end and she transferred to the Sacramento office to try and help straighten out their issues.

The branch manager who was then brought in has managed to take an office that was seeing strong improvements in morale, productivity, better audits, etc....and turn it into a place that makes you feel as if unemployment in this terrible job market would be a better option than going into the office everyday.

To those who are still under the current regime in Tampa, I say good luck to you all. Sometimes it takes making a difficult decision to leave, or having that decision made for you, to make you see that there is no job worth your health and sanity. Take it from someone who has lived through it, the grass can be greener on the other side.

To those in the BM, CM and CC positions in Tampa, I say this: Understand that you would not like being treated the way you are treating those who report to you and that you are not the only ones who have worthwhile opinions. Learn the golden rule and just maybe one day you'll become decent managers who people enjoy working for instead of the abrasive, insincere and arrogant people you currently are.

Does one even have to go into detail? I mean, the office has its good days and its bad days just like
every other place. Anyway, Pay, average for the industry. They seem to like to overpay to get you there.
Respect, I have never really had a problem with this. But if you get on the radar, then you may have to
really watch it. Benefits, they are ok, but nothing too great. I have seen worse though. Job security,
I think this made me laugh because there used to be some, and they the layoffs started. Now, who
can really tell? Work/life balance, another interesting one. If you do not meet your numbers they make you
kill yourself at home by working extra hours. How much of a balance is that? Career potential, well, they
like to advertise that there is career growth, but I have not seen too many promotions from within. Location,
always a plus when this works in your favor! I like the location. It is close to a lot of things, and there is a
walmart across the street too! Coworker competence, I have not had any problems with coworkers. Can
love them or leave them I guess. Most are good people. Actually, there really is not anyone at this place
I do not like or get along with. The workforce seems to stick together. Which is cool. Work environment,
sometimes it can be a little iffy...especially with the layoffs. I feel as though people are always watching
somewhere, and taking notes on what is going on.

I have to say that I do enjoy working and appreciate having a job. Especially in today's economy. I have
some friends that have lost their jobs and are looking for work. I am glad that I am not in that situation
as of today.

People can whine and complain all day about their job. At least you still have one. I mean think about it,
really, for a while. You could be unemployed! That would suck. Especially in today's economy. The other day
I read that 500 people applied for 50 minimum wage jobs at a krispy kreme. Do we really want to take our
chances in a job market like that? It will get better if we brave the storm. All we need to do is hunker down,
keep our chins up, and look forward to the future. Things can only get better!
