How do the company rankings work?

Points for any given company are cumulative. So, if a company has 2 reviews and both reviews assign -10 to the company, then the company now has -20 points.

What are the posting guidelines?

All our reviews are anonymous, but we do expect you to follow a few guidelines.

  • Don't just click -5 or +5 for everything (think about and explain your review).
  • Don't personally attack anyone (by name, initials, or title).
  • Don't be obscene, violent or hateful.
  • Don't go off topic or post spam.
  • Don't use ALL CAPS.

So, if you want to be heard, stay within our guidelines. We may change our guidelines at any time.

Are my reviews anonymous?

Yes. Reviews are posted anonymously. But you are still responsible for your posts and protecting your anonymity, so stay within the guidelines outlined above and be careful not to include indentifying information in your registered nickname or in your posts.

Do I need to register for an account?

Yes. We require all users to register for an account using a valid email address before they're able to post a review or comment.

How do reset my password?

If you have forgotten your password, you may request a password reset by providing the email used when creating your account.

How can I get a post removed?

If you think a review or comment is outside the guidelines outlined above (simply disagreeing with a post is typically not enough) and should be removed, please let us know. Simply click the "Flag this Review" or "Flag this Comment" link beneath the post and explain why it should be removed. From there we'll look into the issue and respond as needed using the email provided with your take-down request.

Note: We reserve the right, without obligation, to voluntarily remove any posts that we find objectionable, block users, or take any other actions we feel are necessary to protect you, the community, and JobVent.

Can I remove my own post?

Unfortunately we don't yet support the ability to remove your own post, but we can do the work for you. If you want to remove your own review or comment, simply click the "Flag this Review" or "Flag this Comment" link beneath your post and explain why you would like it removed. We'll verify that the email address associated with your post is the same as that of the take-down request and then we'll remove the post for you.

What happened to my post?

If you think that your post was within the guidelines outlined above and was removed by mistake, please let us know by emailing venter@jobvent.com and we may take another look. Make sure you identify the post or give us its link and explain why you think it should not be removed. Please include your full name, address and valid telephone number in your email request. We may need to contact you to confirm that you are the poster to verify certain questions.

Does JobVent create or edit posts?

No. All posts are exclusively created by our users. We do not create, contribute to or edit the substance, meaning or content of any posts, but we may choose to remove posts that we find objectionable, limit the length, or change formatting or styles at any time.

Can I find out information about other posters?

Not usually. We typically do not give up information about our users, especially if they stay within our guidelines, so please do not make us. JobVent will act as required by law or we may choose to use or disclose information if we believe in good faith it is reasonably necessary to protect JobVent or others.
