I was really not sure about this company but have one friend whose experience was pretty good so I took her up on her referral and applied. We are now no longer friends! Once hired on, training seemed fine. Then my computer started freaking out. And when needing tech support, they would say it's my computer. Even though my computer is less than a year old, and never had issues b/4 installing the required programs. Besides that, the pay sucks. Yes I get to work from home, but I still have to have childcare services b/c I'm on back to back calls and can't do anything. I get two paid ten minute breaks a day, and a 30 minute lunch unpaid. Any time you take for personal time is unpaid. And tech issues...are your fault so they say...so it's also unpaid. As a previous poster stated, the Coaches and Team leads are not ethical, and will divulve any and all information to other reps about you and others on your team. You get no respect. They will IM you in a heartbeat if you are taking personal time, no matter how much you are allowed to have. They hound you like you are making big bucks, when you're making spare change. You have to report any and all missed time as if you are in a boot camp. You are stuck at your desk all day taking calls and not getting the assistance you need while doing so. Basically, I hate this job and am about to quit due to the fact that it's entirely worse than working outside my home. I took this job in the hopes of being able to stay home with my kids, but I still have to get others to watch after them...defeats the purpose! Not to mention that I'm also breastfeeding, and they hound me for taking time to pump/nurse my little one. Yeah, can we say lawsuit?
My advice to those looking to Alpine Access for employment, steer clear and stay far away from it. Training is lovely, but once you start taking calls, all hell breaks loose and you are in it by yourself...and yeah...you are basically chained to your work chair and have no freedom. To the one who posted about having a flexible schedule - stop lying! Alpine Access does not even offer flex schedules, they have set schedules they provide to you, you just pick a shift. You don't even pick when your measily breaks and lunch are. And if you are 15 mins late on taking either of those, you have to report it.
Alpine is a glorified sweat shop. Save your time and $45 for the stupid background check and just commute. Its worth it.

I just nurse my baby while working. Luckily she isn't a loud eater. I think some lines do have flexible scheduling. I have a friend that is on one, and they can adjust their schedules from week to week, with out asking. I know on mine we can't.........On most you can't.......

You sound like you had the same thing happen I did. The minute I started installing all of their worthless, antiquated software on my computer I started having problems. My computer was four months old at the time and had NOTHING wrong with it. While I worked for AA I had to have it replaced once and then the replacement computer had to be restored. I was terminated just like louisianamom was because I had to be off three days without a computer. Get this...they wanted me to go buy another computer while mine was in the shop so I could work! Yeah, right!! On the salary they pay you're lucky if you can buy a mousepad!! They fought me on unemployment and lied about having records where they'd called me to find out what was going on and I didn't answer. I provided my phone records which showed NO CALLS from AA and they failed to provide any documentation proving their lies, so I won. But, it was hell and by the time I won I'd already found another job. I did get the back unemployment pay that was due me and that was some sweet revenge!! Keep with it...they fight you because they know most people will give up. They have NOTHING except the ability to wear you down. If you stay strong you will win!! Good luck!

Alpine is definitely a sweatbox. They con you with a lot of Bull, wanting to get the outsourcing back in the hands of the USA. Whereas, they have managers who are outsourced and the monitors are also from overseas, without mentioning the country. there whole tech prospect is out of focus, what they tell you to do with customers..all they want is so-called "pitching" I call it telemarketing, if you don't do it your fired, period...I can go on and on.....I quit ASAP without going further with them, I wasn't even allowed to keep Doctor appointments even tho I told them before I accepted job....pay is for other countries. I tried them just to really see what gave and man did I find out........cost me close to $300 with what I had to buy for there use with their again so-called thumb drives which rarely worked although mine wasn't any problem. Forget Alpine and definitely AOL......I never joined that outfit in the beginning nor would I ever sign up for using them. good luck and get out while you can
