Guys, seriously...I am a very positive guy...but if you have a chance to try out another company I urge you to do so. I learned alot with my time at Cintas- I was a sales rep- but the amount of stress and paranoia that this job gave me aged and depressed every positive bone in my body. Looking back, it is almost comical to me that I could work a job that made me so unhappy. I am so thankful that I had the courage to leave and if any of you here feel this way- just go- there are many great companies out there that love, and understand, the hard work and experience that Cintas has given you- even if you don't realize it yet.

I can't relate as much to the SSR guys out there but I do know that my location's reps dealt with the exact same problems that you all have related on here. It is a constant struggle between your morals and management. As a third party viewer, I know what the SSR's are saying is true- and I feel for you.

My take on Cintas is as follows:

Great training- not the study/binder crap they give you to read but the actual job is amazing training. I still use snippets of things I learned at Cintas when dealing with contractors, other salespeople, etc. It really taught me how to talk business to other business people. I am very confident when talking business via telephone especially.

Cintas looks fantastic on your resume: if you are in sales or in service sales put you sales numbers down on your resume. List the number of accounts you opened/managed. etc. Recruiters and companies love seeing Cintas on your resume- they know how tough your job is.

Money is above average: You will not make, in my opinion, the amount of money that they tell you that you will make when you are hired. This includes the sales and service side. Again just my opinion.

Benefits are good, can't really complain.

Vacation/Personal Time is lousy: Cintas really missed the ball on that one. I would always feel guilty to take vacation or even ask for it.

Management was hit or miss. The culture at Cintas is just what it says- for its shareholders. This company does not value the person. You either get a tolerable manager or you don't. It was sadly 50/50 at best.

Products are good but insanely expensive-so expensive that Cintas loses accounts because of these markups. Who ups prices every quarter? I've seen Cintas increase customer's bills multiple times the same YEAR! The same year? wtf?

Anyway, I learned a lot here. I didn't realize it until I left but I did learn alot. I would never go back there, oh heavens no. But I learned alot about my life- especially what I DONT want in a career.

Take your experience and go folks, there are great jobs out there if you are willing to seek them out.
