Well, depends on what you are applying for. My recommendation is read all of the reviews, not just from Farmers, but 21st Century Farmers, and any variation you can find, because there are a few categories for the same company. I personally come from claims, and I originated from AIG/21st Century, and I can tell you that this company is RIDICULOUS with their expectations. For example- since I came from 21st, a few unlucky coworkers and I have had to resolve the last of the 21st claims. Since Farmers decided to fire many of our knowledgable cohorts because they could not pass Farmers arbitrary written test, despite having 20+ years of experience, the small number of us who did pass are taking on FOUR TIMES the workload as we are used to and should be taking. So, since we are taking on a much higher and EXTREMELY unrealistic workload, our customer service feedback is very negative, and the numbers we are expected to meet, are becoming more impossible everyday- YET- Farmers will not lower their expectations, and if our numbers do not meet, we run the risk of also being fired ourselves. One cannot come to any other conclusion other than this company only wanted our policy holders (of whom they are chasing away daily because our claims reps cannot keep up with workload) and not the workforce, who is extremely valuable which can be proven by the years of experience with claims (most 15+ years). So, my friend, I only hope that you take SERIOUS consideration with this job. I will be frank: Farmers expects that you will: not only come in to perform your expected duties, but, you will commit to "extra curricular" activities such as bake sales, any activity which will result in a major contribution to the March of Dimes charity (in which Farmers can plaster their name all over and give you none of the credit); or any other "extras" you are willing to give to this cult of a company. Furthermore, I have heard straight from a Farmers employee, that even when you are doing very well, you are not doing well enough. This company thrives off of the fear from their employees that they will be fired at any moment for some arbitrary reason. Well, at this point, I feel I have started to just go on a tangent, but honestly, I could go so much deeper, but I hope that this person who posted, as well as any others who are considering employment here, just read these honest posts from us who have been there, and really consider your decision. One more thing- the practices of this company are soo unethical, that I have begun to look into legal representation and contacting the Dept. of Insurance for CA and the CA labor board, because the way the claims employees are being treated is down right UNETHICAL and IMMORAL and results in many claims being out of compliance with the DOI and when the DOI does receive a justified complaint, the ADJUSTER- WHO, MIND YOU IS TAKING 4X THE AMOUNT OF CLAIMS THEY REASONABLY CAN HANDLE, IS HELD RESPONSIBLE AND FIRED!!!! Please just steer clear of this company and spread the word to not only not work here, but deter anybody from insuring with this company, and those who already do, to look elsewhere. Thank you for reading this far, if you did.

I agree with what you said victim. Farmers is just a pack of gangsters. Legal action is in the process at this time. Several class actions to choose from. By the way for field employees covering 3-4 different jobs while driving and not getting paid for your preperation time for your first stop. How many get lunch, two 15 min break or time to stop and urinate? Never got any of these. Horrible company and they destroy companies they buy. They are crumbling as we speak. So long shithole.

I am currently involved in a lawsuit for the exact same thing that was listed in Anonymous's posting. I have joined about 20 others in a lawsuit that started in Texas and now has members in NM. This not only started for those reasons but also for unfair labor practices. I would encourage Anonymous or anyone who is interested to please contact me at Reddraco69@hotmail.com
