I work at 1550 in Lakewood Colorado. The place is a very fearful place to work---several employees have been followed around by the cameras in the loss prevention office to be used to help persecute us with thought crimes. We have 3 new managers that have turned this place to trash. In 2009,this was a decent place to work with the usual crap to deal with;but, when our store manager was fired ,the house cleaning began---all the ASMs and many decent dept heads and associates have been fired.
It started with our evil district manager at the time decided to sacrifice everyone in his district he didnt like to save his own ass----thankfully,he got his ass fired when it was realized that he was the problem.
The problem is,he managed to get his team of evil bastards installed in our store before then...damn.
The first was an ASM named Bob Girard who was installed to fire anyone he was told or whom he didnt like--that was the first villain.
The second was the store manager Tom House----he is a real dyed in the wool two-faced bastard that wont treat anyone with respect and has anyone fired for stupid reasons such as one woman who had a blue dye in her hair----she dyed it back to assuage him but,he decided she needed firing even though she was great with customers and was very dependable and competent. He is the one who followed us around on cameras to bust us on thought crimes.
The third is an ASM named Lon Keatley who started out reasonably good but,has been turned into a pit bull who acts so brotherly while he gives you veiled threats of punishment or firing. He has been asked by several associates to help resolve problems we associates have with our dept heads but, does nothing but allows the dept heads to be jerks.
Many of us believe the managers are indeed encouraging dept heads to trump up charges against us to give us bad reviews and eventually fire us.The first people getting disciplined are all the higher earning,older,hard-working,and dependable associates. When one of the good employees gets disciplined, the rest of us wonder who is next.
This place is a very scary place to work---in this economy,we are all afraid of losing our jobs with all the bills we need to pay.
Is it any wonder everyone here feels depressed and terrified?
Our store scored the lowest employee morale of all home depot last autumn----believe me,it has only gotten worse.

I work there, too.I think I know who you are.I agree......I go to work every day feeling I have a knife to my throat. The scheduling sucks with opens foolowed by closes followed by opens, and so on.Bob Girard is just plain viscious and arrogant, while Tom House is big stooge that is so busy talking about how home depot cares while he sanctimoniously sits by doing nothing while he lets dept heads get away with murder. He rewards his pets but, punishes everyone else on trumped up charges. You get punished if you'task' during bullshit power hour but,get in trouble when you cant get your tasks done.Go figure that crap out---you get busted for working but busted for not working. You cant win. Then there is weasily Lon Keatley---he cant be bothered helping solve problems with dept heads which encourages them to abuse the associates.he just doesnt want to hear about it.Veiled threats? Good to know I am not the only one who has noticed that. I thought he might be a cool guy at first, but was I ever wrong.....he's as bad as the other 2 bastards. Bob is by far the worst---he loves chopping heads---so watch out.
