Background -- I have worked in the home office for nearly ten years.
Pay -- really about average for my area. Not great, but could do worse.
Respect -- out the window in recent years as results come first and people come last.
Benefits -- not as good as my prior company in town but reasonably competitive.
Job Security -- so far I still have one, but many others I have worked with over the past few years have not been so fortunate. Additional layoffs are not out of the question as we will probably need to cut salary expense to have a shot at our combined ratio this year.
Work/Life Balance -- ha! If only we could replace the people who have left us voluntarily, or reduce the workload commensurate with staffing levels. See "Respect" above.
Career Potential -- was promising a few years ago; less so now as a lot of positions in my department have been phased out.
Location -- I like central Ohio and I can't complain about my commute.
Co-worker Competence -- I do work with some really bright people, although it is hard to keep up quality when the staff is disengaged.
Work Environment -- we do have brand new cubicles and office furniture on a newly renovated floor. Of course, since the renovations add to our already bloated expenses, I expect another round of layoffs soon so that we can put those salary dollars to better use.
