Pay-Used to be ok.It is ok starting out but once you have any tenure
pay raises range from 0-1 percent. Tenure would be any one with
over a year of exprerience as it stands now.

Respect-Does not exist.Progressive Insurance breaks just about every
law they can get away with. Descrimination, micromanagment,
Lies and more lies. They literally have a team of HR goons that
do nothing but try to blow smoke up our tail ends and keep
the law breaking management (All levels) from getting the
company sued. They have settled with many to keep lawsuits
under wraps.

Benefits-The 401k match is a good perk but the medical/dental insurance
is horrible.Very few choices. Only pays 80/20 now. Vacation
accrual is ok but there is such high turnover, there are never
enough employees to steer the ship, making it near impossible
to get time off.

Job Security-Absolutely pathetic. The current executive management team
has made poor choices and has caused Progressive to drop
from the #3 auto insurer to #5 and we are still dropping.
The upper management creates false records in order to set
up a system to get rid of employees so that they will not
have to pay severance or unemployment. There is no tenure
here. They have run everyone with years of service off.
The former claims president got canned for no reason.
They just came in a said "Poof, we do not need your
service any longer" Goodbye. The layoffs mentioned were
given to the affected employees via telephone calls and
they were read a script.Over and over Progressive people
were shown the door without even a thank you. There is
no job security here, look what the current CEO did to
the President of Claims.

Work/life balance- All employees are overworked. There are not enough
people. New employees come in, see the workloads
that are dumped on them and then turn around and quit
The ones that stay are given 2-3 employees work to
clean up. Alot of employees here put in 60-70 hours
in an attempt to hang on to our employment. We are
told it is expected you come in on the weekend to
catch up.

Career Potential- None/Layoffs and Firings throughout the company.
A select few are promoted and then terminated within
2 years. There is heavy emphasis on new college grads
but you will be gone as they will replace you with the
next years graduates.

Location- Headquarters in is Cleveland, Ohio. All field offices are
either in warehouse/strip center areas or in very old
office buildings. They are closing offices left and right
and will be centralizing claims in Phoenix,Tampa, Austin,
Cleveland. Headquarters buildings are nice but the rest is
in high crime, off the beaten path areas where rents are lower

Coworker Competence-Some great people to work with in the trenches.
Management in the organization is not trained and
it shows. Many very bright individuals have been
terminated or left. Progressive has very little
talent in management as they have all been laid off.

Work Environment- The absolute worst environment of any company I have
had the pleasure to work for. Employees are fearful,
concerned, angry, and just plain tired of the way the
executives and management has ruined every thing that
once was great about this company. Graduates do very
very thorough research on Progressive. You will see
the examples of the work enviroment you will encounter
upon accepting employment here.
