It's been almost a year since I took a voluntary lay-off "involuntarily". Leaving that toxic hell hole was the best thing I could have done considering the sociopathic Operations Manager and lying, inept HR Dept. I now have a life free of the daily stress and hazing. Yes, it was hazing and mind games to force older workers out. I also don't have to endure the embarrassment of listening to them announce product deliveries and contract wins when everyone knows once it goes out the front door, it is coming right back in the back door... because it's still a POS and didn't pass testing. I pity our poor sailors who stake their lives on that abysmal weapon. Why hasn't the Navy and Congress stepped in to investigate and shut down this fraud?

They are getting ready to “ramp-up” production. This is just another step in a very long line of last-stitch efforts to bullshit the Navy. In reality, their deliveries are being returned at the same historical rate, and their COTS design can never succeed. They’re starting to break things again in the single-axis vibration chamber at Bangor. Whether they realize it or not, the new hires will be used for nothing more than to expand their infamous “scapegoat pool.” The engineers themselves fully realize the absolute necessity of using Mil Spec hardware in the construction of any military weapon system. They also know that real people, that build real weapon systems, just don’t operate this way. Making hundreds of prototypes before you have even one reliable, proven prototype is insanity. In my opinion, the leadership at Keyport is guilty of corruption at the highest level. As a taxpayer, as well as a proud US Navy Veteran, (not to mention being an innocent victim of their disorganization-gone-wild) this really pisses me off. It’s really not Raytheon’s fault. After 13 years of (almost purposely) stumbling around in the dark with nothing to show for it, it is extremely and painfully obvious: If Norm Dicks and several other misrepresentatives weren’t so easily bought, they would have lost their contract long ago. The worker bees are all shocked and dismayed that Glenn Croix is still being allowed to call the shots. They describe him as a “crook,” and his only “friend” is Meg Morton. Reportedly, the work environment has just about reached the brink of hostility. Raytheon has promised to sell Turkey 100 of those things. Oh well… maybe we don’t need Turkey’s friendship after all. Dave Cobb (the genius torpedo designer… and a very strong contestant in any “Mr. Personality” Contest) now works for NUWC. I guess the government is determined to maintain its well-earned reputation for being totally inept. Craig Ladenberger tried to get Doug Crutchfield’s job, but they hired from outside. Based on all of Craig’s wonderful accomplishments (being tall, slender and somewhat attractive… and everything), I just can’t imagine how they justified that one!
