A few years ago I started out working for a temp agency and was placed in their tech support call center. It was my first job out of college and probably the worst. I do not suggest you work in their help desk dept. Since we all were temps we were treated poorly. I did that for 1yr with no opportunity to become full time. The job sucked. Opening tickets and then forwarding calls to the "experts" for handling who had no clue and then we'd have to keep following up with these so called experts who didn't know how to solve the problem and it always came back to us. Finally I posted for a job in the claims call center in Windsor. Dear lord what was I thinking. TERRIBLE PLACE. Talk about being watched like you are a little kid. I did excel as I was told but I never got any pay increase for the first year. They said although I was a top performer I needed to be "better". Well lucky for me i was able to get a new job in WindsorST doing accounts. I have been doing this for 3yrs. I loved it but soon realized it is a dead end job. I do not understand why management doesn't want to promote from within. Never really give me any increase each year yet I go above and beyond. I even found a few problems with their stupid portal system and they could have cared less! It got fixed a few months later but geez, if no one else caught it, they would be ruined I feel. Yet they still do not want to recognize me. I have heard the rumors of lay offs so I'm already looking for a new job. I thought this was a good company but I've ended up at a dead end because of poor management. I didn't want to post here but I did anyway after my friend told me about the site. Good luck to all.

I won't dispute youe experiences, but would ask if you've taken any courses / classes, got licensed, or advanced towards a degree. I agree they work you pretty hard here (arguably too hard), but I haven't seen a high performing, highly motivated person held back. Maybe you're right...but make sure you are being honest with yourself as to your responsibility in being unhappy and "unreconized".

Looks like management had the real posts deleted and replaced them with 2 copies of their own propaganda. I guess they are hoping someone will believe their B.S. keep trying folks tell the same lies enough times and you begin to believe them

"I haven't seen a high performing, highly motivated person held back." Huh? Someone at Travelers actually said that with a straight face? Hey, buddy, come to my office. We've got lots of degrees -- or at least we used to until half of them got run out of town on a rail for being too old. Degrees and licenses don't do bupkus for you at Travelers once they decide you're over the hill. They don't like old employees at Travelers because old employees are expensive. And by the time you hit your 50's? Believe me, being "held back" is the least of your problems. It was almost hand to hand combat with the thugs they sent in to push us under the bus. Why do you think us old fogies are so energetic about posting Travelers' dirty laundry all over the internet? We may be old enough to remember the 50's, but we are at the top of our game. The marketplace is going to have to change for us because there are a lot of us boomers and we're not letting corporate America bulldoze us. We are determined to change the way these s.o.b.s do business so it won't happen to our kids and grandkids. Yeah, pal, we're being honest with ourselves. That's why we're doing what we're doing. Is that why the bigwigs are dumping their stock like crazy this month? Because they know the gig us up?

If you look at the annual report and the listing of officers, you will see that many of the people ultimately responsible for this sorry situation are themselves over 50. Who are the most expensive employees of Travelers? Officers and Directors.

Htfd, under the very same roof where you work are a couple of the biggest scam artists ever to hit Hartford, mapping the way to a seven figure payday while they abuse everyone around them. Shame, shame, shame. The media will have a field day with these perps when the story is finally told.

HTFD could you name me one CCVP that anyone respects? Enjoy your little get away meetings off site. We have investigators with cameras as well. Knock knock
