After an extended absence for personal reasons, NA Leaders is back and our break from the harrassment and abuse in the workplace is over. During the 3 month period that leadership was not around, things were less stressful and work production was higher. There is a lot of talent in the Irvine office, and when the work environment is positive, they are some of the most productive and hard working individuals I have had the chance to lead. The pay is good but everyone works hard to earn what they make. We have benefits in line with most other companies that I have worked for and the offices are bright and open. This is not a company for the new college grad as most of the workers here have been around for many years either through Sage or Sage acquisition and there is no training for new hires that amount to more than learning how to find your desk and turn on your PC.

There is no job security at any level and the turnover of executives is high. We have hadn interim leadership for past year in Business services division, and Healthcare division has turned over 9 times in last 5 years. We thought we had good forward motion with exec number 8 in HC but when she started having opinions that were different than NA leader (and turns out number 8 was right), number 9 was brought in and given no $$ or resources to update an outdated product. HC is pretty much off the map now as far as growth so not a good division to join. Business services is holding its head above water with interim leadership but as in health division, there are no plans or $$ to update old products. The moral of the story is that we have all learned to keep our heads down and do as we are told. With the job market coming back for experienced workers in most states, we are seeing heavy turnover of some very good talent.

Sage UK, World Headquarters, has a new leader this week that was brought up from the inside but by all accounts, it will be business as usual. We were crossing our fingers and hoping that they would bring someone in from the outside with fresh ideas and perhaps new NA leadership, but doesn't look like that will be happening. My recommendation is that you stay away from Sage NA for now and see what happens in next few months under new Corporate CEO.

The top leader here in Irvine continues to drive this comany into the ground. I am not part of teh executive team but I am in a position to hear and see what goes on, and it isn't pretty. If you are still working at this company, you should be looking for work if you aren't already gone. The cruelty and abuse that we take from our Executive leader is beyond anything I have ever seen If you don't fall in line then you are exposed to continues abuse and harassment until you leave. I have seen the utter abuse of the Leadership here and I know that many of them have gone to corporate in UK to complain, only to be sent back with their tails between their legs to endure months of verbal and mental abuse. When the UK execs come over to visit us, a good hamburger cookout helps them turn a blind eye and they go back across the pond with full belly and a knowing smile on their faces. There is no growth potential, horrible work environment and no respect here. If you are thinking of working here, I strongly suggest that you keep looking.

It seems like no matter how hard you work or what your accomplishments, if you are not part if the 'in' crowd, then you are no where with this company. It does not seem that talent, skills or contributions are rewarded anymore. I am not sure what it is. We are now all part of the crappy Sage culture. To continue to layoff people and wonder why morale is so low, is just stupid. So much of the goings on are just stupid. Almost anyone that is left is either looking for a real job, or isn't talented enough to do anything anyway. That is pretty harsh, but true. All we do is reorganize, move the same people around in middle management, hire and fire SVPs on a monthly basis and watch as our customers go elsewhere. I love the location I am in, but I really need a new job. This place is wasting my life. More than 10 years of my life. Find another job is my advice to you and to myself.

There is too much politics here in my opinion. The ranks are being depleted as there is a line drawn between sycophantic behaviour and quality employees. The in-fighting saps too much energy as employees fight for the coveted 'favoured son' position since competence or experience gets you nowhere.

SSHD has become a hostile working environment with constant executive mgmt turnover who possess less and less competance nor healthcare experience. Middle management is stuck on ego trips decades old and NA needs to have managers who have been in their role for 5 or more yrs re-apply, re-interview and start cleaning house of those who aren't fit to lead a McDonald's crew. Unless you are part of their exclusive clique you will not be recognized for your accomplishments nor promoted to leadership roles that you may be more qualified to hold than the management that is inplace holding these roles. Favoritism and personal connections are unethical especially in certain departments where commission plays a role in their own salaries and that of their "yes men". The company provides less and less medical benefit yet rates continue to rise. People live in fear that because the plan is "self-administered" that Big Brother is watching what may be wrong with their health and could be a cause for "set up pips" and increasing rifs. The salaries that are paid most certainly do not match any where near comparative roles in the same industry. Sage grossly underestimates and insults the intelligence of the staff that is remaining.

Layoffs scheduled for 1st week of April. Heard Irvine and Atlanta will be hit hard, especially IT. This place is like working with a guillotine over your head, just waiting for it to fall to cut your head off. Can't wait to leave, have an interview with Intuit next week.

Sage Healthcare BLOWS. This is a company to avoid at all costs, whether you have share my misfortune of working there currently or are considering doing so. I'm interviewing now like everyone else. Since the Sage takeover, the place has gone a software company filled with innovative, excited people to a death trap. Zero motivation. Talent has repeatedly been laid off over the past two years, the entire staff is lied to by sr. mgmt almost constantly, denied raises and/or any hope of meaningful recongnition or promotion, and in the last six months, people have been jumping ship like CRAZY since the economy's rebounded. We're now beginning to get killed from the customer perspective. I can't say I'm sad to see it happen. This company, or at least this division of Sage (which all I can speak for), is truly tanking. The @#$ is about to hit the fan with the clients, starting with our largest. It's ridiculous to say so, but I work there and can't wait to see it happen.

Wow, glad 2009 is behind us. Sage laid off 1,000 employees in 2009, rumor is another 500 will be laid off in 2010. Sage laid off 20 people in IS on 1/18. Company is suffering from years of acquistions with no strategy and no good integration plans for the acquistions. Good CEO now, but feeling the pain of many years of bad leadership under the perivous CEO. I would skip Sage until 2012, company will have a few more years of bleeding red until company gets healthy again. Also keep in mind that Sage is a large company with small company minded mid management leaders, so not a good place if you have worked at large companies.

Sage provides great pay and benefits but no real fututre. The companies products are stagnant and going no where. We are hoping for a great release with the new Accpac 6 product becuase that may pump a little life into us but the rest of the portfolio is on a downhill slide. They have no respect for their employees and you could be shown the door at any time regardless of the work you procduce. Leadership is the worst it has been in years, the selection to lead North America by the U.K. team is awful. A few bright spots in Canada but for the most part stay away or come in for a year enjoy the pay and then leave.
