Simply has always treated me fairly and I enjoy my days. For the most part the people are genuinely friendly, and the DM is respectful, and knowledgable on the day to day job duties. Sometimes we have policiies that change quickly, but in the economy who can blame the top brass for looling for something that will work and get us all through. I have been here many years and I hope to continue for many more.

the Simply I worked at now has a locked door and a note to call the call center.
A sign of things to come.

There is a culture of fear that needs to stop. no one here is disputing that. superiors expect respect but don't give it. treat people with respect and dignity and employees will go to the ends of the earth for you. There are so many things that need to be changed, but this is not the way to change them. There are so many good property managers and some really bad ones. if you can say that you did your job the entire time with no internet surfing, no gossiping on the phone, no wasting time watching episodes of entourage or on facebook...then you can bitch. be honest with yourself and ask yourself if you really did everything you needed to. i know how bad things are, but you are either the kind of person who bitches about how bad you have it or looks to change what you can. I don't make what i want. My supervisor doesn't tell me when I do a good job, I don't get a bonus and i wish i were somewhere else. but, when i can help someone who is going through a hard time, or when i meet a goal i set for myself, i feel good, i hope those of you who have gone through a bad experience with this company start to feel better. not for simply's sake, but for your own...so much negativity can't be good for yourselves.

AGREED,AGREED,AGREED, I too have the wonderful experience of being able to be employed with this unethical CO. Every new hire will run out of steam in a matter of months, I was eagier and full of life when I was hired some time ago. That all changed, if your thinking about employment with this Co. go find a job scrubbing toilets you will go farther and be respected more. Raise JOKE, Bonuses JOKE, Audits JOKE it's a no-win ,save yourself from distruction.

Will wait to score Simply myself based on outcomes.

For Mass:

I am not sure why you came here if you have nothing to vent about. Something has got your attention. Your need to counsel? Maybe. I don't believe that everyone just "Hates Themselves" that doesn't seem intellectual that seems immature. So I am posting a homework assignment for you. Look up Plausible Deniability

Here's for starters (from the web):

plausible deniability

A condition in which a subject can safely and believe-ably deny knowledge of any particular truth that may exist because the subject is deliberately made unaware of said truth so as to benefit or shield the subject from any responsibility associated through the knowledge of such truth.

Make sure you look up the wiki version and relate it to the chain of command scenarios. Keep your eyes open. Although you think you're the best at what you do there might be someone out there that you think is doing a pretty good job and then POOF they are gone.(Then another, then another etc.) You have been with Simply a very short time but you are at the top of a very long hill down.

I belive alot of people with negative experiences on this board has a bad attitude and creating the situations they are in. As far as myself, I work in a awesome building, I have a great DM, Iv met all upper management and they are great too. Present your self as a intellectual, and you know what your doing and they will be happy with you. You are here to work, make your customers happy, and make money for the company, nothing else. If you meet your number, they will be happy as simple as that. I treat my property like I own it. I take pride in it and it reflects back to my customers. Alot of my new customers are referrals because they like me, my property as well as my rates. I bet half of the people on this board dont have the balls to tell upper management what needs to be done in order for the property to produce. we cant expect people to hold our hands, this is why we are givin the title property manager. To take control and manage the property. I have to stick up for simply because iv been here a little less then a year and Iv only had a good experience with them. sorry if you hate your job, take a look at your self for a second and ask, do i love my self? because if your having a bad experience at work, it might be the issue as far as personal life as well. I had to put my two cents in because people always complain, im here to praise. Have a nice day.

There is absolutely no respect for the employees and they are the most demanding of your time and resources. I was required to pay for ads, mileage and necessary supplies out of my own funds and they wanted weekly and monthly account of what you did to promote business. OB Companies dba Simply Self Storage is the worst company I ever worked for, and I wouldn't rent a storage space there either. They raise storage rates 2 to 3 times a year and don't give more than 60 days days, which is required my Mass. state law.

I quit last week. Former manager. The units are going to hell since maintenance must be a luxury. Mine was only 50% full. Gates break all the time. Some retard the GM/Regional hired jerry-rigs it to work.

Pay sucks. I couldn't hire more ppl so I got stuck at the office all the time. I sleep and surf the net and post payments. Don't live on property since 7 days a week is your job. Security monitors don't work in the office. Just unplug the power. Respect is bad since they are going bankrupt. Units suffer as a result. They only keep the AC working right since they could get sued. Work/Life - 60 hours a week. Sucks. Potential - Nepotism. So, no. Some idiot cousin of the regional manager gets to be district or GM. No job security. They have problems paying vendors. Locations are usually in crime zones. Everyone but the manager on site is a idiot. Work environment - live on property is a nightmare. Don't sign for that.

The outside units are getting old. Doors need lots of replacing. I clean out old units. If you manage one, you will be the janitor, maintenance man/girl, front office, cleaner, lawn man/girl. It was a good experience since you learned how to do everything.

The place I run now is 100% better. I only work 50 hours a week, have staff, get things fixed. I don't work weekends much.
